Is the Indy Motor Speedway worth visiting?

Gonna be in Indianapolis for a couple hours and we are staying near the airport. I heard there is a Museum at the IMS, but i was wondering if it is worth checking out. I would want to see the famous bricks on the track. Do they let you see that?
