A ship is being pulled through a harbor by two tug boats at constant velocity as shown in Fig. 5-7. The lines?

From the information given and not having the benefit of a diagram, the only suggestion is that given that both tugs are pulling the ship, each line will be under tension and will take the form of a relatively shallow catenary curve in the vertical plane.
