Do I have problem traveling from different country?

my name is yen from USA (american citizen). I have friend and she is canadian citizen, she wants to go to the USA. I was w/ her and she was detained to the immigration and sent back to canada. and then when I go back to USA the immigration ask me where's my friend and I said she her home. my question is If I'm going out of the country and coming back to USA. Is there any problem to the immigration about what happen to my friend.are they gonna hold me bec of that situation?
